Question on D vs Z series

Hey all,

I'm thinking about upgrading to a new style GMT. I have a choice of a D pepsi bezel and a Z black bezel. I will be selling my older blue/red and must admit that I have a desire to get another blue/red. Down the road do you think the z serial will be more desirable being the transitional series?

First dont know what you mean by upgrading now the only change in the the cal 3185 GMT since 1988 has been only very minor cosmetic things like no lug holes etc.Now if you are talking about a vintage GMT my advise would to be to hang on to the vintage one.And bezel insert are quite easy to change, and would doubt if the Z series will ever be as valuable in future as say any vintage GMT just to many of them in the world. And the only difference between a D.or Z is ones case was stamped a bit later.

quite unlikely to be more desirable cos they are identical except for the case letter.......

I would get the Z one. I don't know if this will apply in the future, afaik A and P Daytona are the same and the last of the Zenith Daytona but...there're less P around...and people want more for their P serial Daytona.
