This is still VERY , Ohlins

But I think what is meant by "inferior" concerning the comparison between gold and steel is that GOLD in fact IS considered to be superior in the periodic system.

Evidently, he does NOT consider steel to be inferior as such, or else he would not have bought an SS GMT, would he?

But it is only natural to buy an SS GMT if you want the "same" watch to wear on occasions where the "superior" gold version would either be too "much" in terms of dressing or would be simply too valuable to wear. For those occasions, it is better to wear the SS.

I believe THIS thread's topic is: "Daytona: Used vs. New?"

You could also PM him if you would like to know what he means.

I agree.

Some people get so touchy about nothing. I blame the parents.

My gold GMT had the SS version to serve it breakfast this morning. I think that the SS GMT has found its place in the pack.

Sorry about being but never mind, eh?

Now that it a superior Daytona. I do like the gold version better though, even superiorer (sic).

When I say superior I mean it in a very subjective way, of course.

as you know i have this watch, I friggen LOVE it. 22.3 is the lowest any AD is going to go which is 20%.

Take it and start enjoying it. I LOVE mine. the black face w/ red needles also give it a really sporty look.

But the indiglo sux on the watch and the bottom clasp will scratch like hell.

Go w/ the new one, i had the EXACT same dilemma. Gray market for around that price or new from AD. I went the AD route and got the same offer.

I found one for $17.9k used (yes it was bought from an AD originally), so it's like me buying the watch you have next year for $4.4k less . not a bad deal right? the way i think of it, it's like buying a slightly used car. let someone else take that initial depreciation hit...but yes, there is always that new car smell you gotta enjoy lol

thoughts?

Buy brand new, used is still used. Not much price difference in the long run.

I agree. There is no way I would spend that much money and buy somebody else's Rolex. New all the way when you are talking about a beauty like that. I think the AD is giving you a reasonable price as well.

I disagree, i bought the daytona instead of the white gold day-date w/ diamonds in it even though it was cheaper than the daytona for the 'less bling bling'.

The daytona imo you can wear everyday(which i do ) but a watch like the day-date i couldn't.

Super2nv, savings of over 4 grand can get you alot as well. (getting it serviced, so its practically new) and some change for a mini vacation.
