Differences SD 16600 vs 16660
What is the difference between the Sea Dweller 16600 and the 16660 (referred to as a Triple Six)? What years was the triple six made? Why is it more collectible? Thanks guys.

I think the 16660 was built between around 1978 and 1988.
The 16660 has the 3035 movement, the 16600 the 3135. Also, in the beginning, there were no white gold markers on the 16660 dials. All the cases of the 16660 have lug holes there are also two different case backs for the 16660 (mark 1 and mark 2). I also believe there are differences in the dive extension clasps but am not sure about that. |

The Matt Dial version of the 666 is highly sought after.....Why, not that many made, the last Matt Dial Sea Dweller, who knows.....
I do think it's the nicest looking sapphire crystal Sea Dweller. |

Matte dial, sapphire, lug holes...considered (often) as the last of the 'classic vintage' era Rolex.
I want a matte Triple 6, not so much on the 16600.

Other than the comments above do the two models wear different? Specifically weight, comfort, and how it sits on the wrist?
