I haven't seen much review on the new DSSD over here, I wonder why that is? (yeah, I'm trying not to wear my watch to bed, though it don't feel uncomfy, I'm worry that I might bang it against the wall while at sleep :{ ...but the watch glows nicely at dark~)

Why isn't there a specific Deepsea Owners club? Just the Seadweller?!?!

I don't have to worry about that because it seems to hit my wife in the head before it hits the wall while I'm asleep. YMMV

Congrats! I have had mine for almost a year now. Had many different watches and never wanted a Rolex until this one came out.

Cheers Keith
It would be great to have both, but the DSSD is growing on me and contemplating mixing it up with a 16610LV for a little variety. Guess I need to keep saving and find ways to make more money to feed this bug

Nice watch. I was always worried re the sheer size of it, but I saw one in the wild recently, on a generously-proportioned chap (as am I) and it looked very well. I think, primarily because of its height and presence, it really is one for the bigger specimens. Some 40mm watches, and even bigger ones, can be carried off by people with smaller wrists and frames but not this one.

Hi All

I have a general question about a repair i need done. I recently purchased a Deep Sea beginning of the year, its an amazing watch and by far my favourite out of all my collection. I recently scratched it on the bottom right side where the glossy bit is and to my panic i took it to a local jewellers and had it cleaned. Although he sorted it out for free the scratches were gone but what has happen is that he over polished the side which has left the bottom right side of the casing also part glossy. It maybe minor is some peoples eyes but i can clearly tell and see the difference which has left the watch un-symmetrical as the casing is supposed to be a matt finish (apart from the sides).
Is it possible that the matt finish can be re-applied to the casing, otherwise i have clearly ruined the watch. If so how much would Rolex charge to re-polish the watch casing correctly or even change the casing?

Any thoughts?

Yes, a brushed finish can be re-done without problem.
However, it sounds like it's on the underside of the lug arm that you are talking about..No-one sees this when worn on the wrist.
My suggestion would be to leave it alone and have it repaired when it's time for a service. RSC will do a great job at returning it to it's original finsh then!
I'd say, leave it alone!
