Icon10 How is your patience

I'm just curious, everyone

1/ Are you willing to pay the full retail price plus the VAT or whatever tax for the rolex ? Can you resist the rolex lust and wait until you can have a trip oversea to buy to avoid the tax?
2/ Or you cannot resist the lust for rolex, and charge into an AD, boom, kaching , pin number please , and come home with a full box

I tend to divide my purchases into two categories.

1 - Purchases I will keep for life ( or at least for a very long time )
2 - Disposables ( transport, food, clothes )

The Disposables categories I try to pay for a little as possible, for example I take the bus to work rather than drive a car. I have a coffee machine rather than buy take aways ( buy 3 less coffees per week at $3 a time gives you nearly $500 a year to spend on other things ).

For long term purchases, for example a Rolex, then I am less worried about the price as the cost will be spread over a very long period. For example a $10K watch only costs $500 per year over 20 years. The difference between full retail at an AD and buying second hand are therefore only small over the long term.

I always try to get the most bang for my buck so I will sometimes wait for a better or best deal. But with some things I will not wait and will make a purchase right then. It all depends on what the things is (watch, car, shoes, suit, etc)
