There is a difference between slowest seller, and least popular model on TRF. Although the Air-King is ahead in the poll here as slowest seller, my AD told me that it is a big seller in Beverly Hills, especially with the ladies. It would be interesting to see actual sales numbers from the ADs over the years. I see many older Air-King and Date models in the wild, even though those models are not the most popular here. I believe that the Air-King has been in production longer than any Rolex model.
Most people who buy Rolex watches don't join forums. People who do join forums are enthusiasts who probably spend more, and tend to buy higher in the model range. I know that when shopping for my 1st Rolex, I walked right past the the Air-King, Oyster Perpetual, and Date models. I considered the Date-Just, Submariner Date, and GMT-Master II before finally settling on a Ref. 16710 GMT-Master II. Having learned a lot about the various models over the years since then, I was ready for a different kind of Rolex for my 2nd purchase. This time around I included the AK, OP, and Date models in my list of possible choices. I believe that the Ref 114200 Air-King I recently bought was the best combination of function, appearance, history, and value of the various models I considered.

None of the above, in my experience. By far and away, (assuming we're ruling out the massively blinged out models) it's the Turn-O-Graph. I think we've sold maybe two in the 3 and a half years I've been at the store, haven't stocked one for close to 2 years now. Zero interest

OK, but if you lump the TOG with the Datejust, what then?
I think YM. |
