Thanks to you all for your kind words. Mr. Sampson here are a couple of photos I took. I'm glad you like Oahu. The first is a sunset behind my house, the other, the Mighty Mo.

Thanks again everybody!
Arturo asked how I got started. I've been a casual collector for about 10 years. I bought brands from Casio to Zeno. A Marathon SAR is my EDC. Anyway, I read the forums. I was impressed with the history of the Sub and SD. Early this year I saved and purchased a Sub (from an Ala Moana AD--you local guys probably know which one). I was so impressed by it that I sold a bunch of stuff including 2 Omega Seamasters to get the SD. Thanks again!!!! |

Just wondering...were you able to get any discounts on either watch from either side? I'm wondering if there just isn't enough competition here in Hawaii between AD's (we have just two), to be able to negotiate a discount. |

ROGU808,
No discounts at the Ala Moana shops (the Pearlridge store too) whatsoever, I ask all the time. They only discounts they give are on the more expensive Rolexes. Hmm, I don't know if more competition would bring prices down being that Rolex is pretty strict on their pricing. I know of stores that specializes in pre-owned Rolexes (they sell wedding rings, at the Executive Center in town) but I've never been there. BTW, I was at the the AD near the Apple Store and a salesperson let me wear a brand new Kermit. At that time I was wearing the Sub and was considering the SD. She thought I was nuts wanting the "same" watch. She reached into a drawer and pulled out a Kermit that was still in its plastic wrap. These watches are never on display, I got lucky I guess. |
