What's a good trade-in price on a 359 for a 233 at the AD?

Stopped by the AD today to pick up a strap and was offered 5% off list for a 233.

They said they'd take a trade-in of my nearly new 359 but would have to check on the trade-in value (I'm guessing they'll offer about 1/2 of list or maybe 40%).

The list on the 233 is about $14,700 and I'd have to pay 6% sales tax. So, the deal would be a little under $15,000 out the door for cash.

I know that's a bit more than they sell for on the forum and elsewhere, so it seems high, but anyone have any thoughts?

thanks, Jim

You can do better

If you want it NIB, there are many non-ADs who are very reputable and will do much better.

Jim,

I think you can pick up a near mint 233K for about $9k+ area. If you can sell the 359 in $6k area(that is just where I am seeing 359 offered slightly used).. you would only need to pay the 3k difference.

Food for thought?

Best,

Fred

Check the forums, here, risti, TZ, etc...You're sure to find 233's.

Good luck!

MDUB, Fred, Joe - thanks for the advice. I guess that's what I've been thinking. That's alot of premium to pay to the AD.

X1. 233K is not difficult to find and 359 is not difficult to sell.

ADs will gut you on your trade-in. You're better off trading with a TRF certified seller, or sell the 359 yourself, and then buy a 233.
