Ting noise from Explorer 114270 D

I was wearing my Explorer 114270 D serial last night and I could hear the watch tick and then between each tick there was a ting. I was surprised at how loud it was as the room was not silent.

The watch is keeping good time I bought it in 2007 BNIB from an AD it has never been serviced.

I never noticed it before but I do not wear it much I've been wearing my SD and other bigger case watches so I was thinking with the smaller case I might be able to hear it better than I can with a Sub or SD.

I already have one watch at RCS...I really don't need another.

Have you heard it like that any other time, or just that one time? Some time the acoustics of a room or space can amplify sounds freakishly loud...you hear things you would never hear in any other situation. I say as long as the watch is running fine, you're good.

I think you are correct I was over a friends house and she has very high ceilings in her home. It was the first time I have heard it and I was wearing it at a place I have never worn it before...whew!

That ting is the sign of a fine tuned modern movement - the Rolex melody...
