New Arrival - 16600

I just picked up a Seadweller 16600 from a local jeweler who just happens to be a friend. The price was right and includes a 1 year warrantee. I have always wanted one and the timing was just right. It will fit nicely into the stable rotating with my GMT 16750.
It's a "P" originally purchased from another local AD in 2001.
Came complete with everything as new. I have a 6.75 wrist and was a bit concerned but the fit is great and the watch does not shift on me at all.
I attached a few quick shots and I also have a question or 2.
The bracelet is the 93160A and the diver extension link is installed in the clasp but is very hard to deploy, is there a trick involved? The adjoining link has an "O" on it also. I see pictures of other 16600's with an extension link in the tool kit, is there a second link supplied and can the band be sized without the extension link.

thanks
dave

The dial on your watch says Swiss Made without the t<25 marking. You say the watch is from 1991. Rolex went to Luminova in 1998. Your dial appears to be Luminova. That dial suggests the watch is AFTER 1998. I have the first Luminova Sea Dweller, an A series from 1998/1999. It has "Swiss" only on the dial, which is Kosher for the transition immediately after Tritium was banned. They quickly went to Swiss Made on the dial. If your watch is from 1991, you have a dial replacement, or a problem. A 1991 watch should have the tritium dial with t<25 marking. As for the expansion of the clasp:

1. Open the clasp.
2. With the winding stem facing away from you, place your right hand thumbnail underneath the SS Rolex clasp on the right.
3. Push to the left. This should easily pop out the extension links.

Your comments about the bracelet having A on it suggest it matches with the 1998/1999 luminova A series watch. Have your jeweler remove the Rolex steel bracelet and take a look at the SERIAL NUMBER inscribed on watch behind the bracelet. That serial number had better match the SN for the papers included with the watch, no?

My mistake, it is from 2001.The watch head serial number matches the certificate. P342XXX
Thanks for the thumbs up guys!
After playing a bit, i figured out the diver link with your help, you kinda have to press down on the "O" link and the extension pops up.
Thanks for the good explanation Ski Dweller!

Great watch, great buy. The extension link will just pop up when you give it a wee pull, and the link in the box is just a spare. Enjoy.

Great choice on the SD....

As you found out, you just depress on the O link to pop open the extension....This extension is really used for going over a wet suit and not for extra adjustment on sizing for everyday wear.
The extra extension in the tool kit should have an S on it....This is the Smaller link. The one on your watch is larger. It's meant for a quick change if you are wearing a thinner dive suit. IE: A dry suit versa a dive(wet) suit., as the dry is much thicker!
Enjoy your watch...The SD is one of my most enjoyed watches!

Not correct......The Sub 14060 works this way!
The extra extension link is for a different size wetsuit & not a spare!

Thanks guys!

Been sporting the SD since it's arrival and notice that I got used to the height and weight right away, very comfortable and an added bonus of the height is that the crown does not dig into my wrist.
The lume is still very bright for a 10 year old watch.
I was at a retirement party tonight for a friend and got a compliment,
"Hey, Nice SUB!
