Easylink question....

Hi everyone,

Pardon the ignorant question: How much difference in "links" does the easylink adjustment represent? I'm thinking that it amounts to about one link but am not sure.

Also, is moving the bracelet end by one pinhole in the clasp equivalent to an easylink adjustment? Or is it smaller?

The reason I ask is because my bracelet is on the last pinhole in the clasp, and when I use the easylink, I can't get the right size. Either it's too loose (easylink is retracted- long position) or tight (easylink is engaged - short position). Is there any way to find a "middle of the road" solution?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Easylink represents half a full link....pin recesses in the clasp represent quarter of a full link

It is possible to adjust the length of your bracelet in quarter of a link increments without having to use the easylink....as far as I remember (I don't have my GMTIIc to hand) there are 4 pin recesses..

Let's assume you have the spring bar in the recess closest to the end of the clasp and you want to shorten the bracelet...

To adjust by quarter of a link move spring bar in the clasp to the next recess

To adjust by half a link move the same spring bar to the next hole again

To adjust by three quarters of a link move it to the 4th hole

To adjust by a full link - remove a link and move the spring bar back to the recess closet to the clasp end....ha ha....a bit obvious

You should not have to use the easylink to get the watch to fit correctly, this should be done using the spring bar in the clasp.....the comfort link is for that purpose alone, to make it more comfortable if your wrist swells....it allows you to increase the length of the bracelet by half a link temporarily

Hi -

While I can't speak to the micro adjustment size, the Easy Link gives a 5mm adjustment in the bracelet.

Thanks for this...I think I'll just move the spring bar to the next recess. I'll give it a try...

If my watch needed to be on the last pin-hole, I'd add an extra link
