If a Platty DD came with the Glacier Blue Roman dial, and sent back to Rolex, would they upgrade to a factory Glacier Blue diamond dial?

Yes but you won't get your original dial back. Year ago, you could swap out anything and the authorized service centers would send you back your original dial or whatever.........not anymore. Back in the 70's and 80's, I'd swap out the dials on my DD once a year and it would always feel like I bought a new watch. Too bad they won't do it anymore.

That's ridiculous that they keep your old dial. You payed for it orgingally, you should be able to keep the damn thing IMHO. I guess they do this to prevent sale of grey market goods, dials, etc?

I really like the look of the Jublee dial that belong to the white gold DD, but not available with the Pt. What is the best way to do such swap?

Purchase the dial and have a watchmaker swap it.

Not if you keep the old dial that matches the papers. Its your watch in the end, if you want a new dial then you can source one. Keep the old dial so the watch can be put back to original condition if you decide to sell or trade.

I figure my original Blue Glacier dial is worth something... I believe @$1k to buy from Rolex. Something I could resell as they are very popular.

Good point, but hard to come by, and I thought because the way the baguette diamonds sit high, lots need to be adjusted for the hands to flow freely.

Ok, I called Rolex... $2700 installed with my dial swap out. $3300 and I can keep my dial.
