Seadweller/Submariner

Does anyone know if a sub and SD use the same hands or are they a different size?
And yes I searched and could not find an answer.

I have an old tritium dial and I have sourced a Swiss luminova replacement.
I need to find hands now to match. I want the dial on my SD to glow. I plan on keeping both dials.

I guess there will be no problems, Jason71 that have put a set of YM hands in a SD.

What is best a custom Rolex or a Rolex that is stuck in custom?

Buy a professional camera and you´re a professional

It's Jason's pic and you can clearly see there is space for the secondhand. The SD dial is 2mm smaller so it will be 1mm
each side. So the secondhand will hit the outside instead of the inside of the second markers at the dial. So it will
not looks correct but it works without problems.

hands on the Sub, Sub Date and Sea Dweller are all the same. The dials are slightly different sizes which makes the hands appear longer or shorter. At least this has been my understanding.

that's right. they are the same length and you'll see the second hand and minute hand are closer and even touching the minute markers on SD models.

-Nice watch, what # is it? Similar to the 16610 Sub or the newer one with ceramic bezel?

THanks!

A-serial 16600 Seadweller. Aluminum bezel insert. PVD/DLC. It was a project watch of mine from a couple years ago. It has had the original SD hands replaced with Yachtmaster hands..........hence the "maxi" minute hand and the red second hand.

It is a fun watch, but I would not want it as my only Rolex. I love to wear it into an AD and watch their reaction.

HAHAHAHA

How long did it take you, I mean getting the parts probably was the easiest part but since you put it all together how long to acquire the knowledge?

It is a beauty of a watch, casual and elegance.

I've been into mechanical watches for quite some time, but only into Rolex for about 3 years. I know several "contacts" from my other watches, so it wasn't any big deal to have this watch modified. It took a month or two of planning/saving, and about 3 - 4 months to complete the project.

Crazy thing is that I bought the SD used a couple years ago specifically for this project. I bought it from a fellow off TZ, and it was in about 85% condition with no major dings/scratches.......only superficial. I only paid $3200 for it. I wish they sold for this now.
