Icon7 Father's Day 2011...Man, can my boys cook!

Told my boys about the fabulous prix fixe seven course meal we had at the Pittsburgh GTG last night and they tried to beat it, methinks.

Backwards Dinner Day?

We had THE BEST dessert from Prantl's in Shadyside.
They're one block from Henne Jewelers.

Burnt almond torte (sugar glazed almonds and egg custard between the layers!)...

I desire the corner PIECES (yes, all four have my name on them! ) because the butter cream icing is often thickest on them.
This shows the egg custard layer...

Guess which piece is mine ...

Notice, NO vegetables but the twice baked tater on MY plate!

The Chemist, #2 son (Grand Chef!) and Deb's hand...

The Architect, #1 son (Chef)...

Blue butter and mushrooms, too!

Hand breaded fried oysters and an adult beverage...

My sons blew me away at the oysters and the burnt almond torte is everyone's all time favorite.
(The egg custard necessitates refrigeration!)

Happy Father's Day, yunz!
