Ladies Yacht Master input?

The local AD didnt have any YM mids so I put this one on which was 34. Sorry about bad pic of the watch---but the size was my focus....

My wife chose the same over YM. It was easy for her as she does not like the look of the thin oyster bracelet and much prefers the elegance of jubilee with MOP and diamond.

A bit of advice though, midsize and ladies watches do not sell like full size gents ones, so shop around for a deal.

If you do find a Brand new one sitting at an AD haggle a deal and I would certainly push for 20% off. If one AD won't discuss a deal, find another. Or you could always try one of the sellers on here.....

My wife's mid size TT, although she has deferred as of late to her datejust. I keep telling her the YM needs some wrist time, it's a beauty... and she just looks at me with a blank stare

Great advice from you and thank you. I am a newbie but learning so much from this forum it is the aficionado of rolex! I also did another side by side because first AD didnt have mid size so I had to go to another town. So I do have a question, or two. I went to one AD and he gave me 10% off SteelPlat YM, then I went to another city today (there are not that many here) and saw the YM in plat and gold (i am leaning to) and they also did the 10%. Is that standard? I will push it to the limit with haggling.

It was funny that one AD didnt know where the serial numbers were on the YM----proudly from this post I knew! And BOTH didnt know which was the midsize YM!!! I had to point it out for the one AD! And the other AD I said you dont have one:-) Then she said, "oh these are sapphires on the white face"....I was like really?

So thanks everyone for the posts. I am on information overload and my synapses are firing full throttle! I love it!!!

It is funny how some ADs staff are not very knowledgeable, and that really annoys me. I want the seller to know more about the product than I do.

10% is a decent token gesture but not enough discount on a YM in my opinion. We know how stunning they are, but they arent great sellers and the AD will know this.

I would find an AD that is knowledgeable, has the correct products to show you and treats you amazingly. You are looking to spend more than many people spend on a car, so for that you should expect superb treatment.

If it was me, I would work out what 25-30% discount equals, and have that figure in your head. Go in and highball them with the 25-30% off figure...say a forum that youre a member of has a brand new one at that price but you would rather buy from an AD etc etc (ive used that before)

As youve highballed at 25-30% let them work you down from there. Do not be afraid to put your card/cash on the table and assure them that you are there to do a deal if the price is right.

Thats my advice, and its worked for me many times (not on subs and daytonas etc i must add)

My wifes love of the Midsize YM was a bit different. She has always wanted a midsize YM plat/ss from the moment she laid eyes on one. However it is an expensive watch and the prices kept going up. Eventually she gave up hope of ever getting it, and bought a TAG. She loved the TAG but constantly stopped at every AD window and said "ONE DAY I'LL GET MY YM"

A few years ago I was after a SS Daytona, and my AD friend called me and said "your Daytona is in" so off I went and drove to the AD for my Daytona (which I have now traded down to an LV as I think it was the love of the chase). When I was paying for my Daytona, the AD's wife said "what do you think of midsize YM's"

I was really shocked as this is the one watch my wife has always dreamed of. She showed me hers, that she had worn lightly in the store for the last 6 months and it was MINT. They said as I had just bought a Daytona they would do the YM at cost and I ended up buying it at a really good price. I couldnt really afford it at all, but I couldnt afford NOT to get it as I realised that this was the one and only chance to get this dream watch for my wife. When I took it home and presented her with her gift, the tears were streaming down her face. This was the one and only watch she has ever dreamed of. To say she was thrilled was an under statement.

A few years on and she is in love with this watch and will never let it go.

I like both but it really depends on your style and which you prefer on your wrist. I would definitely go with the Midsize DJ though, the ladies size is rather delicate, esp. compared to the YM which is much more chunky and the LYM is 29mm so quite a bit larger then the 26mm lady DJ. The Midsize DJ is 31mm which imo is a perfect size even for those with small wrists (my wrists are tiny and I have a 31mm DJ, same as in JJL's pic except TT)

The YM is nice, but I would hold off buying a new one until they upgrade the clasp. The "feel" of the current clasp is just so out of syn with the rest of the watch.

Any update?

I have worn the ladies' size Yachtmaster for 10+ years. I am 5'8" barefoot and usually wear 2-3" heels to work. I do not find my watch to be too small.

The size of the watch depends on one's preference. I cannot recommend the YM highly enough.
