Right bracelet for a 1803
Hi guys,
I`ve just purchased a 1,7 million serial Rolex day-date 1803. It will come with a croc bracelet, but in the future I would like to add an original bracelet. What would be the right one? I assume it should not be easy to find it. Any idea where to get it? E-bay? many thanks in advance luciano |

It would a Rolex President bracelet, in gold (white or yellow, to match the head). The early version (pre-1975 or so) has hollow links and a plain clasp (like that on a Date, Datejust or GMT Master), but in gold. The later version has hollow links and the hidden clasp (you adjust the length by adding or removing links). The latest version (not correct for an 1803) has solid links and the hidden clasp. Ebay would be your best source, but they don't come up too often. Figure $3,000-4,000 for an 1803-correct President bracelet in decent condition (President bands stretch very easily, due to the design and the soft gold metal) . There are a lot of "aftermarket" (i.e., not Rolex product) President bracelets around, which are worth less than real Rolex bracelets.
