I woulda blamed the shingles on it, but I had them when I bought it

Speaking of the shingles, I spoke too soon the other day. It's been back with a vengence for the past two days

Thanks, Bruce - I think I've gotten it to the point where I'm ready to submit it to Mark as a permanent feature on the forum.

Thanks, I'm sure hoping so! The OQ is kinda hard to set. Seems like I have to hack it at :59 'cause there's a slight delay before it ticks over to 1 sec. Not that I really care, but I wanted to see how accurate it is!

What really amazes me is how accurate my mechanical Rollies have been. The Explorer is +2 right now, after quite awhile, and I can remember my Sub being no more off than +-4 after a month. Of course they vary more than quartz, but I can live very happily with a watch that hovers around +- 4 seconds indefinately

+-4 would make ALMOST anyone happy Bruce. It wouldn't bother me at all. That would be 1 sec a week. Hard to argue about that. Glad to hear the OQ is spot on.

I find that I check mine when I have to change the date anymore, I think I am soo "conditioned" that my watches will be close enough, that I am happy.

Says something about the movements in both my Rolex and Panerai watches.

That's the truth guys! I keep an eye on the accuracy of a new watch for about a month, then if it's been performing well I tend to forget about it. I could tell the Explorer was a good one after one day, and I expected the OQ to be, but wasn't sure how such an old watch would perform.

My Explorer II was fast, outside of COSC when I got it, but I had it regulated by the local Rolex guy and it was about spot on after that. I think the Panerais have been good time keepers, but it's kinda hard to tell when you only have 5 min markers. Tends to make you not worry about it too much
