New to this forum and already can tell I will enjoy chatting with you all.

I am torn between 2 watches and would appreciate some input. I currently have an old OmegaMatic Seamaster... The thing won't die.

I feel it is time for an upgrade and am considering the PO or the AT. I really need an everyday watch that will just do it all... I did look at the AT 8500 but recently saw this discontinued model.

The PO is great, but not a one-watch-to-do-it-all. That's the cal. 8500 AT.

My vote is for AT as welll.

Have to agree - the AT will move much more smoothly from sporty and casual to formal(-ish).

The PO can go with a suit (see : Bond, J) , but the bezel, in my opinion makes it a sports watch, whereas the smooth bezel of the AT brings a bit of elegance that make it more versatile...

But I would say that go with the one you LOVE - if most of your time you're casual, go with the one you will love wearing most of the time...
Don't compromise and go with something that is more 'practicle' because practicallity, for me, can never defeat passion...especially in the watch collecting game, where the very nature of being a collector defies the laws of practicality...

You may think that you're not a collector - but you did join this forum...you're pretty much doomed.

I've owned three cal 2500 ATs and two 8500 models. The AT is Jeff's (jwalther's) photo is the last 8500 I owned.

I found the 8500 watches to be too thick for my taste and the new AT just did not cut it for me as a dress watch.

The older 2500 ATs as well as the black/black 2500 POs dress up or down nicely.

My 2¢.

But it's your money and your wrist.
