Pam 177

Good Day All,

I stopped by my AD to look at getting a new Rolex but I tried on a Pam 117, I think I might get it. Feels great on my wrist, the Titanium is so much lighter than the steel.

Does anyone have a Pam177? Does the Panerai Titanium scratch a lot?

I want to pull the trigger on this today, but I still need to get the wife on board.

Thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric,
I was a bit torn between the 177 and the 111 ( and 390 now) nd did some searches. Don't know were exactly but read on this forum or panaristi that the 177 scratches easily and that shows them.. That drives me more to the 111. Also the 177 titianium looks a bit dark on the pictures? But you saw it in the flash..

Hope it was of any help, but i'm sure you'll find the same posts as i did!

I put the cash down, I am going to wait untill the new Rolex Explorer II comes out before I pick it up (The AD is OK if I move the cash onto that watch if I like it more).

wow, that's a tough one....i personally would go for the 177, as i love the 16570, i'm not ready for the super maxi hands of the 216570 yet....
...but i would love to lay my hands on a 177

Need pic's on either of your decision!

Eric, congrats on the 177. I did try it on, but i didn't like the weight. I did want something heavier. Goes to show, different people like different things. It's a great watch and I too look forward to the pics.

My 177 is my favorite Panerai. The weight is what attracted me to it initially...it is just so light and comfortable, especially in the hot weather. I also prefer the darker, brushed finish of the case. It is a very unique watch and looks great with most strap choices. You will not be disappointed.

I sold my G series 177 2 years ago but gave just replaced it with another G series but the cleaner 176. If it does get scratched it's much easier to sort than the Stainless Steel PAMS with a scotch brite pad!! If you follow the contours of the watch carefully it will come up like new every time.

Some people say that the Titanium scratchs and a lot say that it does not. I guess as long as it is easy to remove the scratches if I want to sell it.

All my watches get scrached up right now and they seem to still look great

Go w/ the 177, I own a 176 in Ti & its scratch resistancy is awesome.
