Just a fun little camera lens gadget>>>>
A problem with zoom lenses when you wear the camera upside down is it will slide out.
Here is how it looks when it's at the wide angle. ![]() And with full tele. ![]() Then I have got this little gadget called Lens Band, $9 include shipping to Sweden. ![]() You put it this way at the lens and now it can't slide. ![]() Then pull it down to the zoom ring and you are ready to shoot. ![]() Damn, this thing really works.

its a rubber band ,, get them from an office supply , save a fortune ,,, or those silicone bands kids wear as bracelets these days ,,, or cut a loop of rubber fron a suitable sized inner tube , matbe a motor bike , or a wheel barrow ,,,
ive saved a fortune , not much closer to a 168/08 , just thinking outloud or a strip of neopreene , could double as a matte box as well |

Wouldn't a "live strong" band for $1 have worked too?

Or version II of the same lens which comes with a lock switch at 18mm :)
Mine does not creep at 18 anyway ... it does at the mid range though ...

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I believe they are wrong size. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I guess after some years of wearing it will slide from 18mm too.

You couldn't just use a rubber band?

Fortunately, my 18-200mm lens has the lock.
I'm not sure if those bracelets are sized right, but the lens creep is a significant issue for owners of the first version.

I bought the II just for the Lock 18, which is epically stupid considering I never once had any creep. Now the II is here and the bayonet sticks, but not badly enough that I feel like mailing it into Nikon and being without the lens for however long that is. I got what I deserved.

Jocke, if you're having problems with your tele-lens remaining at full throw... I think a rubber band is kind of an extreme solution. I mean, don't they have pills for that now?

some people want the best in life. They don't buy a #%*ing rubber band when they need a specialized part.
You guys are so cheap sometimes. |
