Thank you for all the recommendations. Fits my flat 6.5" wrist perfectly on the bracelet. Have some strap bars coming from otto frei so I'll give that a shot too.

Here are some photos with and without Nato. Quite possibly the easiest strap change I've ever done on any watch and that includes drilled lug Rolex models

I also added a picture of the strap spring bars on the left side:

Congrats on a great acquisition! I'm sure that you are feeling no regrets and now understand why so many people have loved the Speedy Pro for so many years. BTW, it looks great on your wrist on both bracelet and nato!
