I mean the information i got on the net tells me that the earliest LV should be flat 4 ; serial No. Y96XXXX...
But my friend has got a serial no. of Y88XXXX...
So, is my friend's LV a real or fake one?
I carefully investigate my friend's LV and its certificate, but i found nothing to prove it is a fake one...

That is subjective research, and nicely done. Hard to pinpoint dates, especially down to the exact month Y's and early F's started and stopped. I used to have a Y94.... IMO If an LV has a flat four and mark I dial and is a Y or early F, it's a true anniversary collectors piece as that combo was made for a short time. I have seen a F3xxxxx with the flat four/mark I combo posted right here on TRF. Search '16610lv Y series' and it'll come up on google.

No issues.

No one knows precisely when that watch was made.

Its just a font and like many fonts that got changed over perhaps months or years.Even the release pictures from Basel at launch showed the LV with a lug hole case but as far as I know no LV has a lug hole case. And its possible the insert was changed as part of normal service .
