How does a newbie get a 116710LN?
Hey,
I'm a newbie in the market for a BNIB SS 116710 in the Charlotte, NC market. A fellow WIS, Matthew Aspen, has been helping me and giving me good advice. However, he bought his 116710 in Ohio before he moved to Charlotte. And subsequently, neither of us has a solid realtionship yet with an AD in Charlotte. As far as listening to the AD, I take everything they tell me with agrain of salt. I would much rather have your advice. So far, this is the "deal" I worked out with the AD. No discount on the watch (which I expected), a $500 store gift certificate (which my girl likes), a 5 year warranty, and the first major service at no charge. Should I put down a deposit? If so, how much? Should I pre-buy one? Should I beg? Can I order one? Should I humbly wait at the back of the line? How long should I expect to wait. What have you been hearing about the availability of the 116710. Does availability vary with regions of the country (US) or world? What advice can you give me? Thanks. |

That is a pretty good deal with the gift card and first service. I would jump on it and give a deposit so you could get the next one that comes in. JMO

I say take it! First service if done by RSC is ~$450 or so plus the $500 gift certificate is like getting $1k off the watch. Sounds good to me.

I would accept that deal if I were you
Putting a deposit might speed up things. There seems to be no really serious waiting time for the GMT II 116710LN, so I guess you could get the next one coming in (could be anything from 1 week to 3 months waiting time, since some AD get Rolex every week - my AD does! - and some only every 3 months).

That sounds pretty sweet Ron.
To be honest, I'm a bit surprised the 116710 is showing up as fast as it has in the states. Rolex has a winner with this one and they are really trying to get them out there. I think shorty supply will catch up with demand. |

the 116710 is becoming really popular. Imagine what will happen when rolex upgrades all of it's watches .
