SMP Chronograph, subdial hand misalignment
Hi,
Recently acquired a black dial SMP chronograph. Bought is brand new from the official dealer. Yesterday noticed that the minute subdial (at 12 o'clock) has its minute-hand slightly misaligned. It's showing half a minute after reset, and after each minute of time it's moving so that it's always half a minute ahead of where it should be. I tried running the chronograph function for 10+ hours to see, if that would rectify it, but just now after resetting it back, it's 0.5min off from the center as before. Is this "normal" for a watch of this caliber, or should I take it back to the dealer? I never noticed this before, it's been 3-4 weeks since I got the watch. It was probably there from the very beginning. |

If you got it brand new it should set at 12. Even watches I have that are 20 year's old reset perfectly. Just take it back and let the dealer know you unhappiness

Hi,
Left the watch at the dealers today. They told me it's going to be fixed and shouldn't be like this. Must say, this is my first Omega and it doesn't speak highly of their quality control, if this kind of very basic thing gets past the QC checks, all the way to the customer. |

Well I'm not an expert but perhaps this incident happened after the QC? Who knows if an accident happened to it...
Either way it's good you brought it back to the dealer, I hope you will get your watch back without any problems! Enjoy!

Frankly I'm surprised that your AD did not catch the flaw and have it fixed before it was sold. Cheers, Bill P.

When I went to pick up the watch originally, the AD unpacked it themselves. I guess that's why = didn't have time with an eager customer waiting to get the bracelet fitted ;)
