Cartier Diabolo roller ball

I put a roller ball refill in my Diablo pen and was wondering if the lack of a cap will dry iit out faster? Pen writes nicely with the roller ball and great to have twist mech. and no cap.

I did the same thing with my Diabolo, but I used a gel refill, and have never had any problems with it drying out prematurely.
