Just looking at my GMT II and it still hasnt swapped over to midnight....

It swapped over at 4m50s ?
Not a big deal and I wont part with it to get fixed but is this a common problem?

Not a problem and not broken.

I have watches that change anywhere from 11:58pm to 12:06am.

Completely normal and nothing to worry about.

If it was like around 30 minutes away from midnight then you could get it adjusted but 5 minutes is not a big deal.

The bottom line is that as long as you wear your watch the next morning and it shows the correct date by then, I wouldnt worry about it.

Glad to hear it's not a fault. Dont plan on letting this watch off my wrist for the next 4 years.

The date of my SS Sub Date changes about 3 minutes past. I was told by my AD that Rolex aims to let the date change at least AFTER midnight so that there is no confusion as to what date it is.

My last watch A Tag Link used to change slowly over a 15 minute period.

My Wenger watch which is my daily beater does that.

It would start flipping at about 11 PM and the date changed by 11:50. It is very gradual.

On my Longines though, it flips instantaneously around midnight, just the way I like it.

my YM changes around 2 or 1.5 mins before midnight. however my cartier has a slow date change movement .....the date started shifting at around 11 o clock or just before 11 and change as soon as it hits 12 or few mins after 12

My Sub changes date at about 3 minutes past midnight.
Seems to be the norm. I wouldn't worry about it. The Rolex is the first watch that I own that the date changes instantly. My Omegas all change gradually over a 45 minute period.
