Solar, Actually there would have been no National Geographic ADs for the White or Black Face Explorer IIs in the 1970s, as the Explorer IIs in their current form where not introduced until 1985 and availiable to the public until 1986.
In the 1970s there was the older style Explorer II with the Maxi Dial, square hour and minute hands and extra Large Orange 24 hour hand. The old style was primarily for caving, as the 24 hour hand was in sync with the Regular hands. No way to adjust for a different time zone. All the orange hand did was tell you the time in military 24 hour time. |
