Your opinion of a new 24mm for my wife

Hello folks,

Looking for your opinion on the ladies 24mm no-date. Specifically- is this an oddball watch?

I am on vacation in Delaware- so decided to visit the AD here and pick up the Blue Submariner I have been coveting for years (I’ve owned a 16233 TT for a while). The store gave me a 5% discount, a free winder, and I did not have to pay tax.

The salesperson noticed I was looking at the women’s watches and said he would take 10% off the 2nd if I purchased a two. So, applying my wife’s logic of how much money I would save by purchasing more, I made a quick decision and bought one for her too (also a shameless ploy to get myself out of trouble for buying the 1st watch for me).

I selected the 24mm no-date Stainless/white gold bezel w/ a blue face. It was about the same price as a date model, but it is smaller and thinner. My wife is fairly petite, so it looked like a good match. That said, I am a little concerned that it does not really look like a Rolex since it is missing the date bubble, and as silly as it may sound… I don’t want her being asked if she is wearing a fake. I also understand that it has been discontinued and there is no reference to it on the Rolex website. Do you think this is a valid concern? I am leaving Saturday and can still return/exchange it before I leave.

Thanks,

Erik

Erik,
The ladies Oyster Perpetual is a fine watch and perfect for a petite woman.

I'm more concerned that you think that a watch has to have a date bubble to be "recognized" as a Rolex. I expect it will bother you more than her.

You've got her a watch she can wear 24/7, and that crown at the 12 o'clock position says it all.

It is a good watch but i think that 24mm is way too small. Well it depends on the wrist
