Golden anniversary of my birth next month...
Darn, second choice in the poll should have been the 18238 and I can't seem to correct the error or delete the thread ....sorry. Mods, any chance you can fix this??
I am going to get a solid gold Rolex for myself. I have a number of SS and TT GMT's, datejusts and a SS Sub. Back when I was young and poor, the Rolex daydate in YG was the absolute symbol of success. I have always wanted one.... I am considering a YG Daydate but torn between a 18038 and the 18238. The other option would be a YG sport watch ( GMT or Sub) but it seems harder to find a good used one with an unstretched oyster bracelet. Additionally, in the back of my mind I am thinking that a soft metal tool watch is a bit of a contradiction. NO DIAMONDS!!! I'd love to see photos of TRF members prized solid gold rolexes to let me see what's out there. I plan to buy from a TRF trusted seller. |

I love the Day-Date but I voted for the GMT. There's something in this watch I simply love and that green dial looks so good to me I don't think I'd be able to resist!

President no doubt...
When I hit success and my financial dream, a DayDate will commemorate just that

Well...it's going to most likely be a 18K yellow gold day date 18038 single quickset with a champagne stick or white roman dial. I will provide photos on my Bday.
Thanks to everyone who offered an opinion. |
