Chris that is some serious horological history there... The price seems right for an auction/museum piece! Thanks for sharing!

Thats the watch that inspired me to get my 1st Rolex(1680) as teenager back in the late 70's. Here's some pics of it in action.
1st pic in normal position.
2nd pic turning red and getting ready to spin.
3rd pic spinning and ready to cut the ropes.

Dude we will catch up soon! I really thought I was just picking up a hobby in collecting timepieces because I loved the craftsmanship, however, there are some great stories out there on Rolex timepieces especially in my backyard in NYC!

I have to agree, Sam. I am more attracted to the Rolex brand as I learn more about the history behind the watches. That Roger Moore sub would be pretty cool, I wonder if the hour markers still change color? Doubt it...

That's a lot of money for a watch that doesn't tell the time

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 2nd pic where the markers turn red is the "magnet mode". In that scene the coffee teaspoon gets magnetized.

1. It's a frankenwatch.
2. Even if it wasn't, they'd be too squeemish to do a vintage.

$600K for a movie prop watch, interestingly in James Bond the Secret World of 007 no Rolex gadgets are listed ..how many were made I wonder.

I wonder how many hours reserve does it have after spinning like that.... takes the "self-winding movement" to a whole new level

It would be very cool to try to make one Rolex with some of these gadget... Add a motor that could spin the bezel like the saw etc.

It might be a cool project for the retirement...

would the RSC service it ? What with the "saw" function and all..
Might be great when cutting firewood.
