hi, i have a 6569 but the dial (i think) was painted over. would it be wise to have it re-dialled or keep the original dial and find a replacement instead?

I can't really judge from a low resolution photo such as this, but it looks fine, and the black is pleasing. I don't think a redial would be necessary. From higher resolution photos we might be able to make a better determination of its originality (or not).

Agree with Adam above about more photos.

If it is original - I'd strongly recommend agains refinishing. 'Flaws' are a testament to the service provided - and add to the allure of a quality vintage piece.

Definitely been redialed. If the dial looks fine now i would say keep it. If not search for a used one that hasn't been redialed. Either way enjoy your watch and welcome to the forum!

i will try to take better photos and post again here.

some of my watch enthusiast friends say the same thing.... to keep the original dial as is and just try to look for a replacement. they say not to touch the original, even if it was previously re-dialed or painted over. question is... where can i find a 6569 dial? can anyone point me to the right direction?

It does look like the dial was previously refinished. It looks okay as it is, so unless you desire another dial color (or back to silver), I'd say leave it as is. For bracelet, to be period-correct, you'd want to look for a 7205 riveted bracelet with 19mm end pieces (such as #57, 60, or 61). Sometimes you may find the USA-made C&I riveted bracelets, but be sure it's a 19mm size. Otherwise I'd just put it on a nice black thick leather or exotic strap (i.e. ditch the nylon).
