FYI - this same guy, going by a DIFFERENT NAME of Nicholas Yacoub also almost scammed a close friend of mine. He had agreed to trade the same B&R with both myself and him and never shipped. He even admitted in a text message that the watch was a Fake PAM 183 that he traded to the OP.

I suggest a new warning thread be started

The first big red flag was your first pic. The dial top plate (that's a sandwich dial) is way too thin. Panerai never made a dial like that.

Here's the comparison with a gen PAM183. Note the 6 that I've highlighted. You can see how thick the top plate is compared to your shot. But I thought it could be just the angle, lighting, etc.

After you posted the movement pic I had no doubt: someone stole from you. The PAM183 uses the Panerai Calibre OP XI.

The OP XI has, in addition to other upgrades, an Incabloc shock protection balance wheel (note the Y format of the shock protection and how it's aligned with the micro regulator needle). Your movement uses a regular Asian balance wheel.

What can ya do? If we were talking about an $8000 watch, I'd be devestated. Luckily for me, the B&R wasn't worth a large amount of money. Plus I got it at a pretty good price orginally. (used)

Like I said, the only reason I let the watch continue on its way to this prick is because I had two (yes, two) morons at the AD here in Melbourne look at the watch and tell me it was fine.

I now know better. It was a stupid mistake and I have definitely learned from it!

Do you think the 312 I bought from him is also fake..?

I got that from the AD.. :S

The worst part is that I'm currently 600kms offshore, so I can't inspect this fake. And I'm here for another 2 weeks!

It has given me some excitement though I guess - All these posts! People usually just ignore me :(

Boy are fakes getting REAL good these days. Even a photo posted with the sale can't prove a real from a fake now for the casual buyer. And to slip through an AD inspection as well !
