Looks great!

It looks very different to the other WEs since the others are mostly silver. The gold adds a touch of elegence.

I saw this pen and don't believe the hinge is functional. Most likely it is meant to emulate pinocchio's knee.

I got my Collodi today. The brush metal brass looks very nice.

Stevo, that hinge is the base of the clip and it has a spring somewhere to force the clip into shape. So that hinge does work .

Got the call from Dromgoole's in Houston Thursday and picked up my Collodi BP yesterday.

The dealer also gave me a very nice, hard-bound book showing all of the MB Limited Edition collections. Has anyone else seen the book?

Not only is the Collodi pen a work of art, it feels great in hand. Surprisingly heavy, but very well-balanced. Well worth the wait, IMO. It's now my favorite among the Writer's Series pens (Yep, I have all of 'em

)

Very nice! Since you've got 2 empty slots, may I suggest two pens to make the collection 100% complete?
1. 1993 Imperial Dragon - the snake of the Agatha was not well received in Asia so they created the Imperial Dragon version of the pen for the Asian market.
2. 1996 Dumas father, or son signature - i.e. if you already got the father signature, then get the son one, and vice versa.

I must confess that I have not considered getting the full WE set. Some of the designs I simply dislike and they will never be in my collection, e.g. Fitzgerald, Kafka, Faulkner, Woolf, Dickens and Shaw.

Both excellent suggestions, but I have a number of other MB ball points; just keeping the slots in the case open for the next two WE pens. I figure I can go two more years without making another case that way.

I agree with some of your dislikes; the Dickens looks more like a freakin' flashlight than a pen,Tthe Woolf is too small, and the Kafka is - quite simply - butt ugly, but I am a collector at heart and can't imagine not having the complete series

I have a G.B. shaw fountain and a Faulkner pen. I went by the MB boutique to look at the Collodi. Never thought I would like it as much as I do. I bought one with a fine nib and it's on the way. Beautiful collections gentleman!
