Purchasing 116710 GMT II, some help...
Hi all, I hope to pick up a new GMT II C in February for my 50th Bday. I am most likely going through an AD in So Cal.
Prior to making this $8k purchase, I want to make sure I know EXACTLY what I am getting. My question is, how can I make sure I am getting a 2011 Rolex as opposed to, say an 2009 model unsold? Do they sell these GMT's pretty quickly so the stock is always moving? Or is there any difference between getting a 2011 vs. an "older" unsold model? Any other tips prior to my purchase would be greatly appreciated. The AD advised I would be getting a 4 Year warranty through them. ![]() |

Just ask for a G or any random # serial and you should be fine. No diff really technically, just a psychological thing -- you want the newest for your $$ -- that's cool.

Only the letters makes the difference, so before you buy it ask for the letter

You should have no problem finding a random serial but just so you know they are all the same. This is such a popular watch that it does sell quite well so I would doubt you would be finding any new old stock sitting in ad shelves. That is typically something you will find with the slower selling models and primarily not men's ss sports models :-)
