Do you buy this?

So last few weeks ive been deciding which first Panerai to get. Im on the list for a 390 but its doubtful.

So I tried a 000 and a 112 last Saturday, I couldnt decide so went away and mulled it over.

Now i decided I prefer the 000 even though I can get the 112 for 25% off list from a different dealer, I figured id pay more for the 000 as I prefer it.

The dealer knows me and I have spent a fair few £££ in there as recently as March. They know I am not a window shopper.

So I called the saleswoman on Wednesday and agreed a deal with 2 free straps, I said I would take the day off work to collect the following day. Turned out it was her day off so as someone who works in sales I said sure I will come Friday.

So I got up early quite excited, did some Shopping went to get my Watch...
I sat for 20 mins whilst the saleswoman could not be located. And when she turned up she said Oh sorry we dont have the watch. It had a scratch and has been sent back to Panerai.

So i used my last day off of the year for this and a 70 mile round trip I was pretty annoyed. Would a call of been too much trouble?

Do you buy that story? Feels like they just sold it to me!!

don't buy that story. Have heard that story before (common BS to spin at customers).

She probably got reprimand by her manager and this was "their way out".

It shows how much they valued your custom..... They didn't even bothered to call you in advance.

000 isn't all that difficult to come by, so "if the deal" is still on the offer, ask her to order/transfer another one to her branch..... (there is a likelihood of her saying... Oh, we can't get it anymore )

I'd take your business else if I were you.

Yeah they cant get one apparently. And only problem I have is I have a £500 voucher for that store from when I bought a rolex earlier this year. So im stuck!!

To add insult to injury they were the only store that has a green sub, the only other watch im feeling. But i just couldnt reward them with a higher sale after that!

I knew it was BS and even stated that.

Where abouts in the UK are you?
Am I safe to assume that this isn't a chain AD?

Last time I had a £500 voucher to spend at one of my suppliers... I bought some jewellery for the wife and just pay the difference on top - the voucher didn't qualify for Rolex though

Food luck with your 000 hunt, it is my fave Luminor Historical piece.

The dealer now says they will have a 00000 today. Curious as to how they have got it shipped on a Saturday for Monday delivery but I may well go pick it up today as tonsilitus has forced me off work!

pretty bad saleswoman, but, i wouldn't let it take anything away from the watch....you got a good deal on a very in-demand watch, so, find a moment to go pick it up and enjoy.

post pix please!
