Rolex A.D. in Playa del Carmen
I'm in Mexico on vacation with the wife and was thinking about stopping by the Rolex A.D. in Playa del Carmen...I believe the A.D.'s name is UltraJewels or something like that. Anyways, it's about a 15 minute drive...not far...but far enough that I don't want to make the trip if the dealer has a low stock/small store, etc.
Anyone ever been there and have any feedback? |

Oh, and the place is huge. They also carry Hublot, JLC, Omega, TAG, Montblanc, Cartier, BP, Panerai, Breitling

Do they discount? Are they located in a hotel? Google maps seems to suggest they are in a hotel.

They DO discount. NO, they are not in a hotel. Drive up (or better yet, take a taxi) and ask them to drop you at QUINTA AVENIDA and 12th St. Walk north, you can not miss it.

I was there with my family about a month ago. They had a pretty great selection they have two stores on the island Cozumel. They are both about 4 blocks for each other. I think the discount was 10% but they didn’t have what i wanted in stock. Just for price reference they told me $5,620.00 for Rolex 115200 and $5,620 for Rolex 116200 they said $7,100 for the black submariner... The best part of the experience for me was having 6 watches’ out a once i had one on each wrist. I guess they figure the armed guard is enough of a deterrent. Can you grab me the price of the 116234 Rolex with diamond bezel.
Note: There is no sales tax but they wont ship so you have to buy it there and then or fly back another time. |

I was there in Oct. I preferred the stores in Cozumel, just a short ferry ride away. With the tax refund price for the new Exp II would be just under $7000. Friendly staff in all three stores I visited.

I visited Ultra in Cancun, across our Westin Hotel 3 days ago. Very friendly staff and knowledgeable.

We went to Playa del Carmen two years ago and The Park Xcaret was alot of fun, Especially the underground river. also the Show is the best in town.
I just got back yesterday from Cancun on another trip and Chichen Itza cannot be missed. We skipped it when we were at Playa del Carmen...glad I was able to go this time to see one of the wonders of the world!

As an update, I visited UltraJewels in Playa del Carmen this afternoon. Nice store and the salesperson I spoke with was very knowledgable! Select was good...not great, but not bad either. They had a bunch of Daytonas (including the new ceramic with chocolate dial)...but no SS Daytonas. They also had a no date Sub 14060 (haven't seen one of those in a while). They did offer a 5% discount on SS professional models (with the exception of the new 42mm Explorer II)...and that was without asking, so I suspect there maybe a little more wiggle room there.
The salesperson also mentioned there was a 7% discount given by Mexico upon leaving the country. Not sure exactly how that works, but apparently there is an office in the airport where I would get this refund before leaving back for the states. As a reference point, assuming the 7% discount by Mexico and the 5% discount the store offered me...a SS Sub-C would cost me about $6850 USD. I left without buying anything but did enjoy visiting the store. If anyone is in the area I highly recommend you stopping by! |

I bought a Panerai there two years ago.
They were prepared to deal on that brand as well as Breguet. Not sure on Rolex. |
