Rarity of 1979/80 GMT-Master w/brown bezel and dial?

I've ran across a 1979/80 GMT-Master, all original with steel and gold jubilee bracelet, root beer bezel and brown dial (nipple dial from what I've read on here). How rare/collectible is this watch?

as i'm getting older this one just sings to me, so i bought it!

Not super rare but not even close to as common as a coke or pepsi. It is a fantastic looking watch I think. It is the only GMT I would be excited to own. If you are worried about selling it down the road, I can promise to purchase it from you in 20 years.

Not sure I would call it rare, but I soubt that you would ever see another on someone's wrist. Well-- maybe I should have called it rare.

A bit of an old post, but the TT brown GMT is always nice to look at..

I'm not a big fan and my GMT's are TT with the black dial and insert, something easily changed..

They were not big sellers, and sometimes we call that "rare".. However, it hasn't caught the eye of collectors and so the value is no more, perhaps even less, than a comparable SS model, or the black TT..

Great conversation pieces and I'd own one for the right price, just for the GMT box..
