Congrats! Actually I am nearly in the same boat as you. FINALLY decided on a DD II for myself for my 40th birthday and picked the WG white roman dial. It arrives tomorrow after a week of waiting, so I feel your pain!

My advice is to alter your order now - wait the few extra weeks to get this 'knock your socks off' watch. And then post pictures.
Thank you for your advice. I believe that I purchased a 'knock your socks off' watch with a stick dial.

Thanks!

That platinum with diamond roman watch is beautiful IMHO. However, Rolex feels the same way and has attached a hideous price tag.

Lets see....

I am the original poster....

...and extremely pleased that I bought myself a white gold day-date II and thought I would share my experience here on TRF....

...and also expressed my admiration of the beauty of the platinum day-date II with diamond roman dial here on TRF....

...and I have never belittled anyone on this forum....

...and I have never said my stuff is better than your stuff to anyone on this forum or in real life....

...and yet some person jumps into my post, not to say anything positive, but to state that his YG DDII is more lovely than my recent purchase.

....and further state that the "platty", which I admire, kinda sucks too.

Normally I would be indifferent to this kind of rude, thoughtless post. This time I let myself become a little offended.

I have no problem with differences in opinions. I certainly respect that some people enjoy one particular metal or another. I also understand that some people dont agree with my opinion. Just the same as I think a solid yellow gold watch sucks, other people love them. Thats what makes this world interesting and also the same reason Rolex makes watches in SS, TT, WG, RG, YG and Platinum.

Wow, didn't mean to stoke so much internet hatred in you - apologies.

As you said, I was stating my opinion, that's what these boards are for.

I'm happy you found a watch that pleases you - I wish you the best and would love to see pictures.

There is no hatred, "internet" or otherwise. I do accept your apology.

In my opinion, your post was rude and thoughtless. Nothing more or less. Absolutely I understand what these boards are for and about. I felt that it would have been in better taste to not say anything rather than post what you did.

In my opinion your post is more rude and thoughtless than the one you seem to be upset by..

The other member was merely expressing an opinion, just as you were... You seem to be upset only because he did not express rave reviews for your personal choice, and then you chose to elevate that opinion to a personal attack..

Very gentlemanly for him to apologize, even though his post did not warrant one..
