I wouldn't think an aftermarket case would have reference numbers and serial numbers inscribed. The dial looks original, especially the vintage "OT SWISS TO" marking, although I think the diamonds have been added.

Hi superdelsol,
Hoped for more but never surprised anymore lol. Diamonds were added to the aftermarket dial, the watch smith figures it was probably an original dial that did not make the cut so to speak. The black dial was the original one but it was refinished. The head (case) was not genuine, seen it with my own eyes when compared with a genuine one of the same vintage. The bracelet was determined to be genuine, at least the clasp was, bezel was aftermarket with no Rolex emblem or marking on it when it was removed, the crystal was after market and was glued down to the head, the back case was also inferior metal. When the watch maker was re assembling the watch it was not going together smoothly because of improper machined head and the set pis was from a different watch totally and did not work properly, had to apply pressure to the crown when adjusting the date and time. It's a shame but it happened. I am looking at another Rolex that is complete and professionally serviced from Rolex and includes all documentation, insurance appraisal papers, service document from Rolex, original box and Rolex service box. Overhauled a couple years back. Seller is asking $2,000.00 firm for it. Condition is near-fine, a very nice Rolex. Just waiting to hear back from the seller and see what we can work out. |
