Oysterquartz

Dear all, I am new member here, nice to see you all.

I have one question about rolex 17000 's bracelet.

My OQ (series 5 million) 's bracelet has only pin hole for adjusting bracelet .

It is not screw as same as the current model.

Is it correct?

maybe the pins were put in bc the threads are bad on your bracelet and the screws would not stay in. I say get something perpetual unless you are an old man and dont move enough to keep the watch wound. Also how abt a pic of what it is you are taling abt maybe you bought a fake. Lets see pics hey

Whether he's a young or old man shouldn't make any difference with a battery operated watch.

OP, can you post a pic of the bracelet?

Hey is there a chart that cross references age with movements/watches/bracelets/crowns? I'd hate to own the wrong one

The reason folks LOVE their OQ's has nothing to do with them being over 30 yrs old (e.g., being an OLD Fart). It is because:

1. OQ's are Tons more accurate than the pure mechanical Rolexes
2. You can rotate amongst 8 or 10 Rolexes, and not have to worry about using those stupid watch winders, or wasting time manually winding them up (let alone worrying about wearing out the crown screw threads, and getting finger gunk on the tube stem, as the RSC advised not to wind too often)
3. The shear love of hearing that beautiful OQ Klanking sound!
4. Many other good reasons (epsilon less than an Infinite number), so way too numerous to enumerate further here!

Under 40 and love my OQ! I like mechanical Rolexes more but always enjoy wearing my 17013 for a change.

Can we see some photos of this band?

...and run out of battery in the middle of the ocean

Yes, they are more accurate, yes, you can keep them in the box and have them always set on the correct time when you feel like wearing them, yes they are making nice sound, but you should live close to an AD.

Their discontinuation is the hard answer. Not many liked them. I use some battery operated watches, but not made by Rolex. I tried only once !!

Yes its correct. Push pins instead of screws(only on the 17000, not the TT, or all gold models as they had screws).

Correct on the pins! No screws on the SS Oysterquartz.

very interesting info for this rolex.

Pin hole for only SS oyster quartz and screw for two-tone and solid gold version.

Don't know why rolex did too many details like this

I flipped a black dial about a year ago. I found this one a month ago, & I love it. it is part of the daily rotation. since a German team wore Oysterquartz to the top of Everest, I think it qualifies as a sport model. I'm sure the climbing team made sure they had fresh batteries installed before the start of the climb. this is the best Rolex non-sub, non-gmt design IMHO.
