Omega Constellation ref 168008
I intend to buying an Omega Constellation 'C' case, model reference 168008 that comes with a caliber 564. However the seller, who is deemed to be reputable (there is nothing to prove otherwise) states:
THIS IS A COPY OF THE OMEGA'S SITE DATABASE INFORMATION. As you can see caliber 561 was created in 1958 and caliber 564 was created in 1965 However this especial timepiece is very rare because it comes in a rare combination of yellow and white gold. I wasn't able to find information about this exact model As you can see on this Omega's site database you can see information about reference BB 168 009 and BA 168 009 but not about reference number 168 008 WHICH MAKES MY WATCH MUCH DESIRABLE AND EXTREMELLY RARE.!!! This watch may have existed with different dials. More product information Case : "C" shape (35 mm diameter), 18K solid yellow gold For leather straps of 19 mm lug-size International Collection : 1967-1972 Swiss retail price (1971) : CHF 1'550.- Also available on 18K solid gold bracelet under ref. JLM Constellation - "C" Gents' leather strap Reference BA 168.009 =168.017 International collection 1966 Movement • Type: Automatic chronometer certified • Caliber number: 561 / 564 • Cal. 561 Created in 1958, 24 jewels Cal. 564 Created in 1965, 24 jewels Functions Date, Chronometer Case 18K solid yellow gold Case back • Screw-in • Full metal Dial Solid gold dial with gold hour markers and gold hands. Kindly advise, if the watch is genuine and there is no tell-tale sign to indicate that it is not, why such a model reference number is not found on the Omega database. Thanks for your anticipated response. |

Hi Paladin Thanks for your response. I am not computer-savvy. I tried to register but did not succeed. I shall just wait for him to respond to this post of mine. Thank-you, the same. |

He assisted me in my first foray into watch collecting. I have a tidy little Connie pie pan collection thanks to Desmond and his consultations and education.
