Help identifying a. 2004 GMT 2 F serial 2004

I'm viewing a 2004 GMT 2 tomorrow. I would like to know what to check for in way of numbers, codes or crowns printed and where on the watch. Also the presentation box seems to be the older type with the tan coloured inlay as opposed to the green hard plastic box with a more whiter coloured inlay and white cardboard over sleeve. Is this a correct box for a 2004 watch? 
What final checks or questions should I be asking?

Wow that's a bit to learn in one evening. Who are you buying this from? Is it someone you can trust like an AD or are you buying it from someone you have reason to doubt their integrity?

The number one rule we like to use here is:

Buy the seller.

However if this is your first time buying from someone and you have questions about what you might be getting, I would ask to meet at an AD so they could verify and authenicate your watch at the very least.

Yes, that's it. If you can't trust the person, stop right there. If you like to trust but verify, and are not yourself expert, be sure to get it authenticated by an expert before dollars leave your hands.

An F serial GMT could be anywhere from 2003 through 2006, and so it could come with either type of box. The box change occurred somewhere around 2005.

Nobody can give you a quick "what to look for" if you only have a day to learn what a real Rolex looks like... Good luck..

Well everyone.... The moment of truth. I did pull the trigger. Very happy too. I don't fancy paying another £400+ for a service. Can anyone direct me towards aftermarket Rolex servicing that's a little cheaper or does that not exist? UK.
I really want it pressure tested and buffed up to a shiny finish. Northern England pref.
