Watch Winding - Direction?
My AD gave me a complimentary Eilux 1388 watch winder. Below the winder are three settings - 1 Clockwise 2 Counterclockwise 3 Both Directions. As this is new for me
![]() Also it says it turns for 12 mins every 2 hours....is this OK for the watch - I mean turning consecutively for 12 min! TIA Jay |

Rolexes are ambidexterous. They can wind in either the CW or the CCW direction. I keep my winder set to wind bidirectionally. It alternates between CW and CCW winding.
And don't worry about the time. You can't overwind a Rolex. Although a continuous 12 minute wind seems long, it won't hurt the watch.

Rolex is bi-directional, hence you can wind it either way.
If you have a chronograph based on Val 7750 and FP 33xx, those are uni-directional. Usually setting for bi-directional will cater to all watches.
