I really like it - 36mm isn't a problem, my air king is 34mm and I think its big enough. Not a huge fan of the models that have oyster perpetual in a circle. I would consider a datejust too.

Not a fan personally but I'm not wearing it. If you like it, go for it.

after a month of wearing it i can tell its a great watch comfortable 36mm is fine, i dont really have a big wrists i posted a picture earlier, as for the watch it keeps perfect time within a second a day, the lume is quite nice on the dial that i purchased, lume is on the numbers and batons + no date makes everything symmetric and clean, a pure classic

Mat, is this an everyday watch for you or do you find it more of a dress watch? I always liked the look of the 116000 OP lighter dial as it is so different than my other watches. I just can't decide if I can carry if off everyday. I don't want it to look out of place, so I am leaning slightly towards the new explorer. The size of 36 to 39mm is the only thing I am sure of!. Damn you rolex damn you :-)

Sorry, people but this can't substitute any Explorer no matter what :P
But it can be a good entry to the Rolex world, and can be worn by your partner too |

I had this particular model as a companion piece to the 36 Explorer. Honestly I loved the look of the watch & the detail. I liked the lack of polished links & the overall size.
BUT - I found it difficult to read. I'm not sight challenged (thanks lasik) but the contrast between the hands & the dial is pretty minimal. So as a wrist accessory, it's great. As a timepiece, it didn't work for me.

In any case I'm closing this thread as the OP has bought the watch in question. You can congratulate him on his purchase in the thread he started about that.

I must say that I missed the 316 post first time round, what with all the threads/posts there are to read.
Did this guy ever miss the mark with his thoughts? Not good at all. So very rude.
