Look what I picked up from USADDRESS this morning!

Hello all,

I have completed the transaction with drgross on my very first Panerai.

I am loving this watch. It has such great presence on my wrist. It is a PAM320. GMT 1950s case, 3 day power reserve automatic.

And of course, the obligatory on the wrist shot.

Sorry about the crappy photos. I'm not the best photographer.

Thanks guys. I can't begin to describe how excited I am by this watch. I've always gone with very mainstream watches up until recently. I have a Rolex Submariner (Y Serial), a Breitling Chronomat Evolution, a Tag Heuer Monaco and a Tag Heuer Kirium Formula 1.

This site has opened my eyes to the plethora of wonderful options available. I'm already trying to figure out what my next purchase will be.

WINNING!

Question:

Can one manually wind an automatic Panerai? Is that how to get the 3 power reserve or does it build up as you wear it?

Also, can other automatic watches be manually wound?

Not new to automatics but new to the idea of power reserve.

Cheers.

For Panerai, yes you can manuall wind the automatic movement.

There are some movements (like Seiko) that can only be wound via the automatic rotor, but most quality watches can always be wound via the crown.
