Emerald is a very soft stone, and they way I beat up my DD, I'm sure I'd split or crack one of the stones.

I'd do that if it were green sapphires, though. :)

Seems at odds with the heritage of the Submariner model line. When did they lose sight of the fact that what makes the Sub cool is that it's a pragmatic tool watch, not blingy jewelry?

The jewels are present but are subtle...doesn't really detract as much from the overall look. Not for me...but I can appreciate it.
