With brushed steel, I think there's a point of diminishing return in regards to scratch marks.

If that you want it perfect and have $, buy 2 watch. Probably u can buy the same watch, 1 leave it for your home for collection, and the other is the one u use everyday.
OR you can also polish ur watch at rolex forum. (best solution) another is to buy cheaper watch. use ur daytona in some occasion. while using the cheaper watch for ur daily. |

Wear and enjoy it. If you like a watch with a little more bling factor, then I believe a Daytona could be worn daily.

I try to use a bit of common sense. If I think I'm going to be doing something that has a probability of damaging my watch, I wear my old Invicta Sub beater. It does essentially the same thing my expensive Rolex watches do, but it cost less than one service on a Rolex. And they're still lookin' good.

True how after the first few scratches, you simply wont care anymore. When I got my sub brand new, I would get soo angry at any small scratches. Once I found out it was inevitable, well I gave up caring and enjoyed it how it is.

I know how you feel but it won't stop me. There's always the RSC to make it look new again when I need to get it serviced.

I don't mind scratches but am a bit more careful with gold watches than stainless steel ones! As for the Daytona I think it can be a casual everyday timepiece as well as a great watch to match a dressy attire!

IMO scratches are to be expected if you are wearing & enjoying your watches. Daytona for me can be a daily wear but since it is more expensive than my other watches I tend to wear it on special occassions.

I never get scratches because I carefully wrap mine with duct tape before I put it on. As long as I don't cover the face so I can tell time I'm okay. If I covered the face that would defeat the whole purpose of wearing a watch.

If i'm doing anything harsh or very active, i always remove my nice watches...
but scratches from normal wear is normal that the whole world goes through.. unless you keep it new in the box and never wear it. |

I have two "beater" daily wear watches; a GMT 16700 and a TT Datejust 1601 on TT jubilee bracelet. Every place I go, everything I do is fair game for them as well, scratches be damned. Wear and tear is as much proof of character on a watch as they are on a human being.
My other watches, however, are allowed out of my safe under "close supervision" only.
