THAT is why JJ has not been online for some time!

He bought it, and he is still celebrating!

No problems

It cannot be real - hasn't got a hologram on the back and the box is missing!

Those are not valid reasons for calling it a fake.
None of the experts (I am not one just so you know) on the other forum had any problems with the watch in question.

Printing on the back seems strange.

What about this one.
Seller ended the auction, hate it when they do this.

Or this one, same seller as previous link. non working Rolex 1570 automatic movement.

Holograms wear off and some people chuck out boxes (I think that would be stupid but people do it).

Just because a photo appears in an auction does not mean that is what you will get.

My AD along with fellow members told me to remove my hologram, people can't possibly believe that they prove authenticity. I would like to see some more pics. of that one, including the movement. Maybe someone did get a good deal, in that case, good for them.

Supposedly there are fake holograms out there but of a bad quality.

The seller has a lot of feedback. All sales are for audio/interconnect cables. Nothing he has sold is over $100. Now he's selling a "rare" Tudor for $600-700 (and no minimum bid or reserve). No way would I touch that with the proverbial 10 foot pole.

The good feedback suggests though he is honest.
Maybe with a 20 foot one?

In my view you get what you pay for, I would rather buy a new unused Rolex from an AD. Even if there was a Rolex deal for $599.00 or less ETHICS come into play if the watch is even real, could you basically steal from another? If you bought a Rolex for that price I feel you would be duty bound to explain to the seller that he/she is selling the Rolex for nothing. Then ethically one should tell the seller what the true value is. For me I could not wear, or look at a watch I knew I received dishonestly or by taking advantage of an uninformed seller. The world is full of people who would jump on a deal like this there are few who are man enough and step up to do the right thing.
I am not being self-righteous it is just me.

Your my kind of man Rich, thanks for putting it into perspective. The reality is the seller probably mugged somebody for it anyway. It is much more gratifying for me to walk into my local AD and remember the day I walked out with my new watch...

Is that SD a fake?? cause the helium escape valve on it look way to small. the HEV is all most the same size as the hole on the lug.

Going by the photographs the watch was a 1665 and is worth about US$10,000.
The small helium valve is correct for that model, and the writing on the caseback also accords with the correct model authentic Rolex.
However, I'd like to see the movement. Certainly the case and dial look genuine.
Anyway, what you actually get isn't alway what is shown in the photographs, but this does look interesting $599 for a $10,000 watch is a pretty good deal to me, but who knows, there are more scams, cheats etc. on E-bay than all the US penitentiaries combined

So my guess is the seller was actually selling a genuine one and did not know it was worth that amount of $.
Somebody offered him much more so he forgot his 'ethics' the moment his eyes went $$$.
Nature of the beast me thinks.
