Your name on Warranty Card. does it matter?
Does it matter?
A lot of watches sold by TRF trsuted sellers are named and dated. Will this matter in terms of getting warranty? |

I don't mind too much if my name is not on the warranty. Of I'm buying used all I care about is that I get all box and papers. The trusted sellers on here do a great job.

There are tons of threads on this. Some say it matters some say it doesn't. Just yesterday someone got turned down at NYC RSC because of it. You won't have a problem in Dallas.

I really do not think that is true at all - If you buy used from someone, and even if their name is on the warranty card - all you need is paperwork or proof you bought it from the owner. The signature of the previous owner claiming he sold you the watch should be more than sufficient.

in my experience it seems very random... i have had warranty service performed more than once with a different name on the card... others have been denied for similar requests:t hinking: a rational man would say it either is or it isn't but when it comes to RSC it ain't

To me no name or date on the paperwork will makes it pristine.
Some folks do not care if there is no box however on the market when all tags, boxes and paperwork is part of the sale it will get a pristine value. My two cents

not in singapore
RSC recognises the warranty , named or unnamed or different name, so long as the date stamped is within 2year the naming thing is to discourage secondary resale market some buyer feel they dont really own a preown watch if the warranty card bears the name of the previous owner its psychological |

You sound so sure but it doesn't mean you're correct. Tell me how you drew that conclusion? Did you read your warranty? And if so, where does it say it's not transferable? Did Rolex USA to tell you this? And if so, who did you speak to? Are you familiar with US laws regarding warranties, or more specifically the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act?
Search the forum, there is more than enough threads that cover this that refute this. Fact is fact and opinion is opinion. I choose the former |

The warranty follows the watch in the US. All you need is a properly filled out warranty card, and a copy of the original sales receipt. It does not matter whether your name is one either document. Theoretically, you only need a properly completed warranty card, however, Rolex contends that they can require a receipt, simply confirming that the dealer whose name appears on the warranty card actually was the original seller of the watch in question, if they so chose to ask for.
I know this to be true because I have gifted almost a dozen Rolex watches to clients over the last 15 years, and each and every one has been in my name. No warranty service was ever denied, when needed, by any of the people I gave the watches to. A caveat would be that the warranty would be void if any non Rolex authorized service were provided, or if any non Rolex parts were installed on the watch, irrespective of whose name was on the warranty card. Hope this helps.....
