AD's WERE NOT CREATED EQUAL (Long Post)
Hi, all. Happy Friday. I firmly believe that AD's were not created equal. Case in point, I went to an AD last Monday, the not so likeable "BB" to check out the TT blue Submariner. The salesperson was friendly and offered to have my SD cleaned--a free service. It was a good experience.
The following day, I went to my own AD to have a link removed from my bracelet. The store is an Omega dealer and mostly cater to an specific Asian community--as several of the salespeople, have difficulty communicating in English. I explained that I purchased the watch from their store. Sadly, the (female) salesperson no longer recognized me. But, she was all over me, 5 months ago, when I paid cash! They demanded for the receipt. Luckily, I had the receipt with me. One of the sales ladies' insisted that it was "OK," in spite of the bracelet being loose. Their watch technician, they claimed, is on vacation. But, I had phone them, prior to my coming over and they said, no problem. I had to fight for it, so one link can be removed. It was a traumatic experience for me. I am taking my business somewhere else. Lesson learned: There are good AD's, and there are equally bad AD's. These bad AD's shouldn't be in watch business, but instead in the donut business, IMHO. |

Sounds like a valid reason to shop somewhere else.
I got the snobby treatment when I was shopping for my sub, fortunatly there are atleast 3 ADs in this town, I just went over to the next one and bougth it there. Some ADs does not deserve our business.

Got the same lousy treatment when I went in to look at the new GMT II's. Sales lady at Ben Bridge kept cupping her hands ander the watch thinking I was going to drop it. It was a typical mall jewelry shop. Needless to say, I was not amused by her distrust and her attitude was worse. I went elsewhere and got great service and ordered my GMT II ceramic from them.

Agree 100%. As most have read I finally picked the SS TOG as my next watch and I went to a local AD, negotiated a price, and put down a deposit. About the time they expected the watch to be in their store, I received a call that they inadvertently sold the SS TOG to another buyer. Needless to say, I requested my deposit money back and ended up buying from SwissLuxury - this is one grey dealer I would recommend as the transaction was smooth and the SS TOG was flawless.
As another forum member told me, it comes down to the ethics of the people who run the business - AD or non-AD. |
